And the party continues

As if “E”s birthday party on Saturday was fun enough in the morning, I decided to punish myself some more that Saturday night by taking the girls and 3 of their friends to the men’s professional volleyball team here in town “Transfer Bydgoszcz.”

What made this game special and really exciting to go to is that there are 2 fellow American’s on the team, Carson Clark and Garrett Muagututia.  I have met them because they know our adopted kid, Rachael who practiced with them last summer at the US National team training center.  So over the past few months we have gotten to know Carson and then a few weeks ago, Garrett joined the team here in Bydgoszcz and Carson introduced me to him.  And well the rest is history!

The feeling in the air between the men’s games and the women’s games here in town are so different.  Unfortunate the women’s team here is not doing so good this year, so we haven’t gone to many this year.  The men’s team is not doing so good either; the crowd is loud and fun!  Ok and part of the reason why the girls like going to the men’s game is that there is a play area for kids, so during the second set I usually let the girls go play there for awhile.

And the party continues ….

Beginning of the game each of the starters throws out a mini autographed volleyball to the crowd. It is fun to watch people struggle to get it.

The team got a new head coach a few weeks ago, who is from Belgium. He is very passionate and emotional for this sport.

After the game the whole team walks around the whole stadium to "high 5" everyone.

Even though the game didn’t end the way we wanted too, we all had fun time together.  Come who wouldn’t have fun with 5 girls between the ages of 6-9?

With the Olympics just around the corner what sport are you getting excited to watch? Me, curling!!

love kelley
