Another Day at the Beach NOT!

A couple of Sunday’s ago we headed up to Gdansk to pick up some people who were going to be working with my husband here for a special assignment for a couple of weeks.  Well what was suppose to be a quick 4.5 hour round trip turned into a little over 10.5 hour trip.  They missed a connecting flight so it put them in Gdansk 6 hours later.  It wasn’t worth it to spend 2 hours driving home to spend 2 hours at home to spend 2 hours driving back to Gdansk.  So we decided to head to the beach since we just happened to be in the area.  We had no towels with us nor anything beach related but hey that is what washing machines are for right?

We pointed the car in the direction of the ocean and drove until we saw water and found this perfect little beach!

Made it to the beach!

I think "E" is enjoying the beach.

My hubby taking the hard way to the sidewalk. Crazy part in less than hour and half after I took this picture, he stepped in hole and broke is left foot. (we will save the rest of the store for another blog post)

We went for walk down the beach and found this park Turned the corner and saw this! We stubbled up the "Battle of Westerplatte" park.

As we were walking through the park we saw this boat. I guess I need to find out where this takes off from as it looks like a fun time.

Not sure how good the fishing would be in that area but there must be some fish because we saw a few people fishing.

I would have loved to have been on one of those sailboats.

“E” taking the long way back to the beach. About this moment would be about the time if the bushes where not there on the upper right hand corner, we would see my dear hubby accidentally missing a deep hole and stepping into it and be flat on the ground and thinking he just twisted it really bad.

Love this picture

So in the mean time we limp to the beach and had enjoy the sun for a few hours while “E” enjoys the beach.  I love this picture of her!

A few others were enjoying the beach as well on Sunday.

My feet were in heaven in this sand.

This is what a nice hike & going to the beach for 7.5 hours will do to a kid on the 2 hour drive home.

So once again another day of living in Poland living up to my blog’s name!

If you had to wait for some for 6 hours like we did, where would you hang out till them came?

    Just a couple of notes:

The battle of Westerplatte was one of the early battles of WWII, when Poland was invaded by the Nazis. A small garrison of Polish soldiers held out for a week against a vastly superior German attacking force that included land, air, and naval forces. Their courage was (and remains) a source of inspiration to the Poles.

I saw that pirate-boat-looking thing arriving and departing from somewhere along Druga Pobrzeze, if memory serves. Looks like a fun ride!

Hope your husband’s foot gets better soon!
