Are we there yet?
Yesterday was one of the days, where I REALLY enjoy living in Poland!! Why, because I am just a short 5 hour drive away to the Polish pottery mecca, Boleslawiec! Close enough for a very long day trip. The International Spouses Club that I am active in, is doing a fundraiser by selling custom made coffee mugs and having the profit support the charities we are sponsoring this year. Well we ordered 150 of them which was way too much to be shipped here, so a friend of mine went down there with me to pick them up and we got a bit of shopping in too!
The reason why we went, to pick 150 of these AMAZING mugs!
While it is less than 200 miles way, it takes almost 5 hours to drive it because of the
WONDERFUL interesting roads they have here.
Driving down to the southern area of Poland one of the perks is getting to see views like this! This is a old wooden church that is couple hundred years old.
I think In drove on every possible driving surface over the 4.5 hours to get there! Here a simple single lane road.
Now driving through old Polish cities.
Toll roads make driving in Poland so much easier and faster!
Oh, my poor shocks driving on this dirt road.
But you get views like this when you do!
Now driving on a brand NEW road!!! It is not even painted yet. No pot holes means HEAVEN to my shocks.
We are finally getting close!!
One of the stores!!!
Just a few pieces to choose from!
One of the new patterns I found at one of the stores.
Now I am driving down a very narrow in the forest road to go to another store that is very well hidden.
Our finds at my favorite store, Andy’s!
Now on the back roads of Poland, this is what the roads look like, pothole HEAVEN! OK, a lot of the city streets are like this too.
Toll roads make driving in Poland so much easier!
What a unique bridge, pink! Really, who came up with the color of this one?
Another perk of driving through the countryside, seeing neat church steeples.
Yes, I even drove on cobblestone.
Yep, it is time to go home!
Finally driving on a regular 2 lane highway! Yes, the picture is blurring because I am finally able to drive that fast compared to all the other roads where I am lucky if I am able to drive half as fast.
Some of the goodies that found a new home!
Yes, I officially have spoiled pets.
Teachers gifts are done for teacher appreciation week tomorrow.
I custom ordered a dog treat container to match the rest of my jars in my kitchen and turned out perfect! My oldest kid was bugging me last time we were there for the honey jar, so I gave in and bought one for us finally. Now that cup and the name. Well a few friends and I have a joke and making crazy names for each other. Well this one they had at this one of the stores, so I could not resist!
It was another GREAT day with GREAT a great friend exploring Poland!
Is there anything that you would drive 5 hours one way to buy? Me, well you know, Polish pottery!!
