Are We There Yet?

Are we there yet?

Yesterday was one of the days, where I REALLY enjoy living in Poland!!  Why, because I am just a short 5 hour drive away to the Polish pottery mecca, Boleslawiec!  Close enough for a very long day trip.  The International Spouses Club that I am active in, is doing a fundraiser by selling custom made coffee mugs and having the profit support the charities we are sponsoring this year.  Well we ordered 150 of them which was way too much to be shipped here, so a friend of mine went down there with me to pick them up and we got a bit of shopping in too!

The reason why we went, to pick 150 of these AMAZING mugs!

While it is less than 200 miles way, it takes almost 5 hours to drive it because of the WONDERFUL interesting roads they have here.

Driving down to the southern area of Poland one of the perks is getting to see views like this! This is a old wooden church that is couple hundred years old.

I think In drove on every possible driving surface over the 4.5 hours to get there! Here a simple single lane road.

I custom ordered a dog treat container to match the rest of my jars in my kitchen and turned out perfect! My oldest was bugging me last time for the honey jar, so I gave in and bought one for us finally. Now that cup and the name. Well a few friends and I have a joke and making crazy names for each other. Well this one they had at one of the stores, so I could not resist!

I can see you like pottery so maybe this place will be interesting for you:
    http://necel.pl/
It is small pottery museum/workshop in Chmielno near Kartuzy near Gdańsk.
Their website is in Polish but I believe as far as pottery is concerned you will manage :-)

    • I LOVE it!!! I have yet to make it to Chmielno but it is on my list of things to do this summer in between moving houses.

I love handmade items and I need new flower pots for the new house and I did not see any on the website so I guess I need to find a day and head up that way.

Hi! I was wondering if you know of any pottery places in the north part of Poland. I will be traveling to Gdynia, but unfortunately, I don’t have time to make it to the southern part! Sorry – I think I posted something yesterday, but forgot to ask for a notification! Thanks so much! PS. Your website is great! Keep up the great work!

    • Holly,

I am glad you enjoy my blog. Gdynia is beautiful! As for pottery it is just hit or miss out side of Boleslawiec. Your best bet would be to go to Cepelia which is a traditional Polish craft store that are located throughout Poland. Here is the address for the Gdynia store..Świętojańska 2 Gdynia.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!
