Bratislava the City of Sculptures!

Bratislava the City of Sculptures!

So when the hubby was running the Bratislava marathon a few weeks ago, we did a lot of walking around the town.  Once thing that stuck out for us was all the different sculptures they had around town!  Not just one or two here and there but almost on every block there was at least one.

In one of the city parks.

In one of the city parks.

This one one was actually part of a building.

And so was this one.

And so was this one.

Another neat one.

Another neat one.

Walking along the river we found this one.

I am assuming an important person in history.

Not sure what the story is behind this little guy in this building but there must be a reason why they kept him when they redid the outside of building.

We were walking from the grocery store to our apartment and saw this sculpture. We looked up to see what it was pointing too…

It was this! Unique is what comes to my mind.

He is part of the collection of 4 men around the city center. We stumbled upon him by accident. You should seen the line to try to get a picture with him.

And another one for the center. This one is along a park bench.

Not sure if this is considered a sculpture or not but my daughter wanted to have her picture taken there! Wonder what kind of place of business this is?

This one was at the bottom of the hill of the Bratislava Castle.

Well this one I just have no words for!!! This is along the river next to the lion sculpture. It is hard to believe someone actually paid for this!!

We have been to several different European cities and I would have to say Bratislava has probably the most I have seen.  These are just a few of the sculptures that I took pictures of while we were there!!  Some are defiantly unique to say the least.

What are your favorite sculptures to look at? Me, I love to look at old historical ones.

Well, maybe it’s not the best example, but just to be honest – the most attractive sculptures (especially for kids) are those built from LEGO – famous people, constructions, or even a whole cities like that:

I love them! Did you had a chance to visit Legoland in Germany or Danmark :)? I bet your kids would have a huge fun :)

    Greetings

    • Lego sculptures are AWESOME!! I did not think of them. We have not made it Legoland in Germany or Denmark but we did see one in the US that they have in Minnesota at the Mall of American years ago and it was pretty amazing what they can do with legos.
