The Bydgoszcz Half-Marathon

Well my husband is one race closer to reaching his goal of 50 half/whole marathons by the time he reaches 50 as of yesterday because he ran the Bydgoszcz half-marathon.

Race time!

Race time!

What made this run a bit easier compared to most of the other runs he has done is that the start/finish was just right down the street from our house.  It was nice to head out of the house just 45 minutes before the start of the race compared to usually a couple of hours for most the other races.   That and there were just over 1,000 runners which marathon standards is small so it made it really easy to get around doing all the pre-race stuff.

Time to pick up the race packets. Yep this race is just a wee bit smaller compared to most races we have run lately by how small the registration room is.

This race from a spector point of view was not the greatest. Almost ever major intersection and then some was blocked for the course so it made next to impossible to follow him throughout the course.

Or they were running on the parking side of the street(which is good from a runners point of view) but that left no where to park a car along the running route.  Even all the side streets leading up to the running roads where blocked.

One of the highlights of watching marathons is seeing what crazy outfits you will see people in.

Here he comes at just over the half-way point!

And there he goes.

And there he goes.

Now why would someone want to run 21 kilometers in that?

How do you know when the last runner is coming? When you see these 2 cars tailing right behind him.

Yet another medal to add to the collection.

The weather was beautiful for being the middle of October!  We could not have asked for better weather for the race this time of year.  Now what the weather will be like for the Santa Claus marathon that he will be running December that might be another story!

Oh the other big excitement from yesterday we watched Rachael’s volleyball game on TV after we got back from the marathon.

"E" & "A" both see her on TV and they say, "Hey I know her!" and I am like "Yeah, that is the reason why we are watching!"

I could never figure out why people yelled at the TV during a football game and now here I am yelling at my TV during a volleyball game! Good thing I have fake nails or I would have bitten all of them off during this game.  They lost unfortunately 0:3 but hey there is always the next game!  Watch games on TV verses watching it in person is just not the same and can’t wait until she is up here in November!

Now if you could run a marathon anywhere in the world where would you go?  Me, I don’t run marathons but I would love to cheer on my husband in either Scotland or Australia!

love kelley
