Dirty Carrots and Cheese

On the first Sunday of the month for 4 hours there is a farmers market type event here in town at a local nightclub.  A friend has been telling me about these for a while and that I really need to go to one.  Unfortunately they are on Sunday’s from 11:00 – 15:00 right when we are in church and Sunday’s we try not to shop.  But last Sunday we were on holiday so we decided to do a very quick peek into it to see what there all is.

What there was….

Who doesn't like fresh cheese and home-baked bread?

Who doesn’t like fresh cheese, jams, syrups and home-baked bread?

Oh, jewelry how I love you!! Oh, stuffed animals how my kids love you!!

This sausage smelled amazing!

Fresh vegetables and fruit with dirt still on them. Carrots fresh from the garden are the best.

They had just a little bit of everything from fruit, vegetables, soap, jewelry, liquors, breads, sweets, cheese, bread, jams, honey, sausages, crafts and a few other good stuff.

I am so excited to find something like this as I love home-made fresh stuff now if only it wasn’t on Sunday!  I guess I just need to keep on the look out for other ones on the other 6 days of the week.

Do you go to your local farmer’s market?  If so what is your favorite thing to get?

I love our local farmer’s market! We tend to get veggies and meat there. It is held from 08:00-12:00 on Saturdays here, though.

I have heard there is a farmer’s market in my little town and I need to check out what they have. Thank you for reminding me.

I like my farmer’s market. I get whatever is in season and the peaches just came in. Yum!

  4. Hi Kelley, I absolutely love all our farmer’s markets here in Warsaw! The markets are part fresh produce, meats and cheeses and part edible goodies like cakes, cookies, sandwiches, pierogies, etc. I think there’s one almost every day of the week in different parts of the city! I’ve been to the BioBazar on Wed. and Sat., Hala Mirowska every day but Sunday, a small one is Saska Kepa on Sundays, and one in Zoliborz on Saturdays. These are the ones closest to me, but I know there are others too! :-)

There is nothing better than fresh tomatoes from the farmer’s market! My teen eats them like apples.
