The girls and I last night headed to watch our last volleyball game for the 2013/2014 season to cheer our “adopted” kid Rachael Adams & the another American Kim Hill who we have become friends with over this past season play against each other in the Polish Women’s Volleyball Championship for the bronze medal. The first 2 games are in Sopot/Gdansk and the other 3 are down in Dabrowa. These games are only a 2 hour drive away and Dabrowa is about 6 hours away so we went to the much closer one!
Let’s get this game started!
We had to swing by Rachael’s hotel to pick something up which was right on the beach so we did a 5 minute break to burn off some energy after the 2 hour drive there.
Oh, did mention we had to do some IKEA shopping to since we were in the area? I still can’t get over the fact that we are so close to the Russian border. When we are up in that area you see Russian plates everywhere.
If only it was just 5 minutes to play at the beach it was so worth it!
I LOVE the beach but my shoes stayed on no matter how much sand go in them as it was to cold for bare feet.
Who watched the US addition of Amazing Race last season? Here is the building they did a race in when they came to Gdnask. That thing is HUGE!!
Then it was off to our final volleyball match for the season!
We finally made it to the stadium!
Rachael Adams biggest fans! Wearing her US National Team jersey’s for last summer season.
And the game begins!
Love the fact that these 2 can have a Polish conversation with anyone! Time for some bowling in the kids fun zone.
I think they spent at least 30 minutes bowling. The poor guy was having one heck of time coming up with different ways for them to bowl.
Yet another way to do it!
Since the game was midweek and an early game, we were I am pretty sure the only Dabrowa fans there.
Rachael for the point!
Game face is on.
Up she goes!
Can’t wait to cheer her on over the TV this summer when she plays for Team USA! (and Kim too!)
And another point for Rachael.
Now it’s Kim’s turn for a point.
Poor “A” she wasn’t sure which team to cheer for as she didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.
Defiantly not like a baseball game where you get to keep the balls if you catch them. We would have hit the jackpot last night and brought home at least 2 of them if we could have.
Going for the block.
They look ready.
Woo hoo another point for us!
Great save Kim!
I love watching them sign autograph’s for their fans.
Hard to believe but this is the last shot of all 5 of them together for this season. :(
We are going to miss these 2 when they had back to the US to play the summer!
Another great day with my girls here in Poland.
If you could meet 1 Olympic athlete who would it be?
