Well last night, New Year’s Eve was a kids dream in, FIREWORKS in Poland!! Now in the US we only do fireworks on the 4th of July so it was fun to do it in winter coats but trying to light them with gloves was a bit challenging.
To tell you how much they like fireworks here, within a 5 minute drive of my house there was 7 different firework stands.
Unfortunately it gets dark here a little after 4:00 in the afternoon so we had kill some time with the little ones because the minute is was dark they wanted to be outside shooting the one that we had(we can think of other ways to spend our money then just blowing it up). So it was time to get out our favorite game (OK not my husbands), LIFE. After a few games and then it was time for a quick dinner of left over pulled pork and homemade macaroni cheese then it was time for a movie to stall a bit longer. So to keep their attention I got out an oldie but goodie, “A Troll in Central Park.” I LOVE this movie!!!!
Well the movie finally finished and it was time for some sparklers and fireworks, FINALLY!! We went outside and did ours and then came inside just in time for the big show from all of our neighbors and the city center. We live in a 4 story house so the top level has a great view of the city center and we are the tallest in our neighborhood so we can see all around us. Here are a few pictures from last night.
People have been setting them off a few here and there over the last couple of days but last night was the big show and they are still shooting them tonight!
I hope everyone is enjoying the first in 2013! We are having a very lazy day in the Kagele household of watching a “Big Bang” TV show marathon!
What fun and exciting thing did you do last night? You know what I did!

Hi there, I love reading blogs from other countries! It’s a fun way to meet people and learn a little about what goes on around the world. I live in southern Kentucky and we didn’t have many fireworks here. Happy New Year to you and yours! Would love for you to do a guest blog for me sometime about your life in Poland if you are interested.

Hi! I am traveling to Poland this December. Is it legal to set off fireworks anywhere? I am not familiar with the local laws there. Thank you.
From what I could tell, yep!
