Saturday late afternoon we headed to the zoo just down the street from our house for a Halloween at the zoo or Pumpkin Festive party that they were hosting. We have been driving past the sign that they had the street advertising it for the last week and half everyday when I drove the girls to school and when we came home from school, so I was gently reminded everyday about the event.
The weather was beautiful for an afternoon in October unlike North Dakota where I grew up and they have snow already.
Time to start carving pumpkins or in this case gourds.
Lots of people showed up for this fun event.
Here “E” is giving the zoo staff her finish pumpkin to enter in the competition. They were having a complete conversation in Polish, this girl amazes me.
“A” getting some help with her pumpkin from some friends that happened to be there as well.
This poor bear was close to the pumpkin carving area and was wondering what the heck was going.
The wolves where having fun with “E.” There must have been something with her costume that they liked as they were following her back and forth as she was running next to their cage.
I can tell we have been living here now for away we were running into more and more people that we know when we go to things like this.
Here my hubby is having some fun with a friend’s son. I think he really misses having a boy at home.
For some crazy reason when I look at this picture all I think about is Christmas dinner!
“A” had to head back to the front to see if they had done the judging yet on the pumpkins.
They definitely had enough pumpkins to judge from. I wish I could be half as creative as some of these were.
Yeah, a bright pink unicorn costume is not good wear when you are trying to play hide and seek.
I don’t know why either but all the peacocks were up in the trees that afternoon.
Then to top the evening off since we were all having a good time together a few families and us went to a local pizza place for a late dinner. Yes, pickles, corn, chicken and red peppers makes one heck of a good pizza!
Once again another fun day for the family. Halloween is still something new to Poland but you are seeing it more and more here.
Now let’s see what other Halloween goodies happen this week!
