Happy Father’s Day from Poland!
In Poland they are not celebrating Father’s Day today as they celebrate it here in a few weeks but celebrated the US holiday anyway today.
One of the perks of living in Poland is getting things handmade that normally if I was in the US or most other countries I would not be able to get done. One because their handy work here is AMAZING!! They are some of the most talented people that I have ever met that they can make something out of nothing! Second, labor here is much cheaper compared to most places
So this year I thought of something neat for the hubby when I met a friend of a friend a few weeks ago. This friend is a welder who is making a fence for my friend’s new house, so I thought, “Oh, do think he could make a hammock stand for me?’” We have had this hammock for almost 17 years now that we have moving around with us since we lived in Panama. There was this neat roadside stand where a guy would make these cute handcrafted items. One day we saw this hammock hanging up at this stand and when we saw the ‘N’ was backwards, we had to stop and get it. We have had only 1 house where we were able to hang it up because of how the trees were placed for us to tie it on them and that was only for 1 summer. This hammock is just a wee bit too big for a traditional stand that you can buy premade so we never were able to really use it, UNTIL NOW!
So to all the father’s out there….Happy Father’s Day!
Do you do anything special for Father’s Day? Me because I am living far away from mine, we do phone calls!!
