Happy New Year from Poland!

Happy New Year from Poland!

For the first time in celebrating 22 New Year’s together, my husband and I celebrated New Year’s without our kids.  We went out with a few friends to a local hotel that was having a party.  We had a great night but it was kind of weird not to be at home ringing the new year with them.

It was nice to have adult conversations and eating adult food but at the same time it is so much fun to see my kids face light up when we light off the fireworks at midnight, opening the Disney Fairies sparkling cider bottle  and eating the Polish version of Bagel Bites.

Dinner that we went to was a bit on the fancier side, so it was nice have the excuse to go out and get a new dress (LOVE the after Christmas sales going on now which meant I got my dress 70% off!), get my hair done and to put more than just mascara on.

Here I am with 2 of my friends. Our kids having been going to school together for the last 2 years.

And these 3 handsome guys sat our table as well. We definitely had some interesting conversations as the night went on.

Yep, this is one of friends having a bit to much fun with the menu! It was that kind of night.

This was our main course. The food was AMAZING especially the beets they made.

Loved the table wine for the night! Where do we live(Poland) and yet the wine is named what(America) and made where(Argentina)?

Time for the dessert show. Which in the end was just a chocolate jelly roll cake with cherry jam filling.

Time for a quick swing dance!

The dance quick changed and did a waltz dance and gave a quick instruction on how to waltz.

This is just PART of the buffet they had starting at midnight. There was no lack of food that night.

This was a typical Polish herring dish. They loved it and I thought it looked nasty! Just one more thing that proves there is not Polish in my blood.

It was a fun night especially since we didn’t get back home until 4 o’clock in the morning.  I can’t remember the last time I have stayed awake past 1 in the morning!  Yes, there was fireworks and lots of dancing but unfortunately I forgot to put new batteries in the camera before we left so by midnight my camera is out of juice, UUGGHH!

How did you celebrate New Year’s?

love kelley

Well, Argentina is in America. South America.

I think it’s odd that Europeans consider North and South America to be one continent, while they think Europe and Asia are two (really, two and a half, since India is often called a sub-continent).
