I have mentioned before one of the stores I miss the most from the USA is Hobby Lobby. When we went back to the USA last August to visit family one of the places I wanted/needed to shop at was this store. I love making things for the holidays to decorate the house, gifts for others and to spend time with family and friends making them and this store has EVERYTHING that I could possibly need.

My hometown Hobby Lobby.
As I of yet, I had not found a craft store like that here in Poland the local Empik store got me by.

Empik is a book, CD, DVD, stationary and art supply store. Not big selection but they a few of this and a few of that if you need to do a project.
2 weeks ago I was in Torun for the TK Maxx grand opening but we still had an hour or so until we had to be back to Bydgoszcz, so I headed to a craft store that I had always wanted to go into. I am so glad I did!

Are you sure this is where you enter? Yep!

How many options can you have to make jewelry? Lots!

If my girls were here I have a hunch I would be asked to get one of each color.

Our purchase. Let the jewelry making begin.

Above the jewelry store was yet another craft store but this one with a TON of ribbon and lace. This just about a 1/4 of what they had.
So then Monday afternoon I went out with friends to an area that a friend told me about that had lots of craft store possibly. She hadn’t been there in 2 years so she wasn’t quite sure what was all there. Well we headed down to that part of Bydgoszcz to see what we could find. I am officially no longer missing Hobby Lobby!!! If we don’t move back to the USA for another 5 years I am fine with that as these were AMAZING!! This area was old warehouses that have been converted to a bunch of little stores all with there own specialties.

Are you sure this is the craft store?

First store we walk into, a card making and stationary heaven! Here is just part of their sticker selection.

Need a decorative hole punch? They had a just a few for you to pick from.

Oh, if I need to make a card or a making a paper craft, I know where I am going.

And the next store we stumbled upon. Oh where to start?

Then this store was a candle heaven. Evert shape, size and color you could possible imagine.

Off to the next store. JACKPOT!! We spent over an hour in this one. I came home with just a few projects to do for the next few weeks.

If I need napkins for my next dinner party, I know what store to go too. This aisle was all napkins and tablecloths.

Bring on the Easter decorating!

This store had several ideas for projects. “A” was with me shopping and when she saw this she asked if this could be our next project. Painting and felting, can’t get much easier than this. This bunny is going to be perfect for a soon to be 7-year-old and 9-year-old girls.

Does this store ever end? We turned the corner and saw this.

Do these stores ever end? Now a floral store. My front door seasonal wreath is now going to be so much better.

This store had a few ribbon rolls to choose from.

I have a hunch there will be wreath making in my future.

We were running out of time and so we hit one more store. This one was tiny with many unique tea light candles and some unique pictures and frames. Guess what needs to be hung in my house? This and another one that has a FAMILY theme. I paid 49 zlotys($15.50) for each of them and in the USA I would have paid twice that much.
So is Hobby Lobby in Poland? While none of these stores are really Hobby Lobby but they will do just fine as a substitute until we move back to the USA. There are 2 more warehouses that we did not even touch so I guess I will need to head back to see what other goodies I can find. I can’t believe I have been living here now for over 2 years and I am just now finding these stores! I can’t decide if it a good thing or a bad thing.
Are you a crafty person? What is your favorite craft to do? I love just about everything except painting and drawing. My skill level is stick people!

Hi!
I am looking forward to have some drożdżowa that you featured here
Since the holiday season is coming up and it is my favorite time of the year, this post about a craft place in Bydgoszcz sounds a great find. Will you be so kind to tell me where it is located? Is it accessible by public transportation?
I just found your blog by accident as I was searching for places to eat here in Bydgoszcz. I’ve just moved here roughly 1.5 weeks ago from Kraków and I am still at a lost where to find things
Thank you!
Welcome!! If you help finding things here let me know.
I don’t know the actual street address name but it is the street behind OBI. Next time I go I will find it out. It is going to be super easy to get there by tram as the stop is less then a block a way. There are several different stores depending what supplies you need as they all specialize in different items.
Thank you! I will check them out once I am not swamped with school work. I tried the breads, and I liked them a lot! I bought a little pizza and the one with budyn. I can see myself going there often
What is the address to this store would love to visit soon
