It is GREAT to be 8!

It is GREAT to be 8!

Last Saturday was a REALLY special day for us! Little Ella got baptised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ and Latter-Day Saints!! In our church we baptise children when it is their 8th birthday or anytime after that when they are ready. Well our daughter has been more than ready for the last couple of weeks! So it was finally her big day!

Do they just not look cute together? Proud daddy moment.

We did the baptism at a local pool as we have a small chapel here with no baptismal font. Not only I am proud mom at this moment but I am proud too of my husband that is able to do the church baptism for our daughter!

Dressed and now time for the big moment.

We were able to get a family picture! This does not come very often so when it does I jump at the chance.

Time for the baptism!

I am so thankful for all our friends who showed up to her big day, especially our friends who are not members of our church.

After her baptism we were off to the church for refreshments.  If you are LDS or have been to a LDS function there is ALWAYS food or it is not complete!

Like any Mormon function there is going to be food in it and baptism is no exception.

The cakes she designed and mom made.

Let social hour begin.

These are 2 sisters who I have in my Young Women youth group that I oversee here and they get REALLY bashful at times, like now. Then there is my little one who likes to photo bomb!

Unfortunatly all good things must come to an end and clean up must start.

Unfortunately all good things must come to an end and clean up must start!

I think now that it is a few days later she has finally has worn off the excitement from the day!

Congratulations to your whole family. It is exciting to see a little girl with so much enthusiasm for the gospel….go Ella…..wonder where she will go if she chooses a mission in 11 years. Yummmm…favorite cake….coconut….never make it though….not my family’s favorite so I would eat it all.
