I Love Being a Mom

Yes, I love being a mom!  Yesterday was Mother’s Day in the US (in Poland it is in a few weeks) but we celebrated yesterday.

My girls woke me up bright and early at 06:30 in the morning with scrambled eggs and toast.  It is thought that counts right?  Best part though was the 3 homemade cards as you can’t get Mother’s Day cards here yet.  Hallmark love your cute cards but I will take a homemade card over yours any day!

Then after church the afternoon got even better!  Why?  Because our 6 church missionaries came over to the house.  But what made this extra special is that 2 times a year they get to call their parents.  For you non-LDS church members, missionaries only get phone call their parents on Mother’s Day and Christmas for 30 minutes, the rest of the year they email them on Monday afternoons or write a letters to them.  Now what even made this more special is this is the first time they got to video Skype their parents.  Now in previous years, missionaries are always excited for these days but this time the thought of seeing their parents and siblings was AWESOME!  For 1 of them it has been 1 year and 9 months since they last saw each other face to face.

Here is how we celebrate Mother’s Day in our house this year….

The weather was nice enough to play a quick game of baseball while a few were making their calls.

Want to know what we miss from US grocery stores? Hot sauce. Polish hot sauce is not the same as US hot sauce.

Not only do I get to be mom to 4 GREAT & AMAZING kids, who I LOVE more than anything in this world but I get to be a temporarily mom to these missionaries as they serve their missions here in Bydgoszsz.

Now here is where these 6 got me in tears …click HERE and you will see this little video they wanted to show me how much the appreciate me and my family.

Then after everyone was gone it was time to enjoy technology and call our family back in the US!

What’s an important lesson your mother taught you?
