I have been talking about this tournament for several weeks and it was finally here!!  The girls and I were beyond excited that 5 of the days of the tournament were being held right here in Bydgoszcz.  So, last Thursday we headed out to watch the Iran vs. Argentina game.

I loved see the team pride that many of these teams showed over the past 5 days.

This kid was BEYOND cute! He took at least 200+ pictures including at least 30 selfies.

"A" totally enjoying the game.

"I didn't touch the ball, I swear."

I would love to know how he says his name.

These guys sure could jump.

Oh, yea!

Oh, yea!

The libra on the Iran team is so short compared to the rest of the team. The sad part is that he is probably my height.

Now inside the sports all there was also lots of places to take your hard earn cash just like any other event this big.

Need some energy to help support your favorite team, they had lots of caffeine options for you.

And yes, LOTS of souvenir options too. Best part they did not price gauge items. For a really neat light key chain they only charged 10 zloty ($3.25) and a embroidered fleece blanket was 50 zlotys ($16).

Just like any major sporting event there were tournament t-shirts for sale.

Once again like other volleyball games here in Poland there were cheerleaders!

Now this wasn’t the only game we went to this past week! By luck Team USA ended up playing 2 games here in Bydgoszcz!!  We also went to both the USA national team of course but more about those games tomorrow as they were that much fun!

Have you been watching the tournament? Now that Team USA is out, who should I cheer on?

    Hello ;)
Oh, I have been watching the tournament since the very beginning. I haven’t watched all the games because I am not that interested in volleyball itself, but I followed Poland and US teams. I am so sorry the US team is out, I really like them. They seem to be really nice guys :)
I wish I had attented some games, in Cracow for example, because there were none in my city. Well, maybe next time.

    • Martyna,

If you ever get the chance to attend a game, you should! The energy in the players and the fans is nothing like I have ever experienced before. Now I just need to live close enough to an Olympic venue once so I can attend a game there.

I’m thinking about attending a World League game next year if I have company, the place is convenient and the opponent interesting. But it’s not before May or June so still a lot of time. However, it is a bit strange that I have been following Polish team since, hmm, 2004 or 2005 and I have never had a chance to attend a game.
