Military Spouse Appreciation Bloghop!

Welcome visitors from the Military Spouse Appreciation Day Bloghop!

Or as they say in Polish DZIEN DOBRY!

RC of Riding the Roller Coaster and Household 6 Diva are co-hosting a virtual “Meet and Greet” for anyone who would like to share, support, or interact with Military Spouse Bloggers!

Today in a special day for our family and many others, it is Military Spouse Appreciation Day.  Being a military spouse has had it’s up and downs.  I have been lucky compared to many as my husband was never really sent to some far off country or in a hostile environment because of his career field and the bases we were at but those wives who have not been so lucky I have kept them in my thoughts and prayers.

So back to our Virtual Meet and Greet!

So cześćn(hello) my name is Kelley and this is my blog,

Never a Dull Day in Poland.

Jim and I at his retirement ceremony

I was an Air Force spouse for over 20 years to a great guy named Jim.  Over these 20 years he was in the Air Force he took me around the world and back.  We went from Minot, ND to Berlin to Omaha to Panama to Miami to St. Louis and finally the Netherlands.  He recently retired and now we are going around it again but now as civilians.  All four of kids were born in each of the countries so my husband calls them “our souvenirs’!

Ella (7), Jim, Lydia(16), Me, Kyle(19), AnnaFleur(5)

In December we moved here to Poland from Holland to start the next chapter of our lives.

What do I blog about….living in a foreign country that speaks very little English and I speak no Polish, doing a home based education to a high school student, having a 19 year old son going to university in a different country, loving to bake and cook but having no real access to my American groceries anymore, loving to travel,  trying to keep up with 2 little kids,  trying to keep up with my husband who travels because of his job, so……

It is NEVER A DULL DAY IN POLAND, for me!

Over the last 6 months we are falling more and more in love with this country!

What do we love about it?  This……

Being so close to the beach!

Old Polish clothing.

We got to film an upcoming episode for House Hunters International to show off Poland!!

Women from an expat group that I have become involved with and myself during a badminton tournament. I am the only American so the conversations were FUN!!!Downtown town during a fair.

We have a GREAT church family here which as had made the transition here much easier! Even though besides the church missionaries we are the only native English speaking family which some Sunday's more of a challenge than others.

The best part of living here....THE FOOD IS AMAZING!!!! This is Golabki!

I hope you enjoyed learning a little bit about my family and I and of course my blog!

    Hi Kelley!

I’m visiting from the MilSpouse Blog Hop! Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day!

How awesome for you to have the experience to live in a foreign country! My husband is in the Army and we have yet to be able to experience “real” military life.. He has been at the exact same base since basic training and I’ve been here with him for three years. Although it is great in many ways (stability for our children, for example), it would be really great to be able to explore different parts of the country and the rest of the world.

It’s so nice to meet you!

    • Brea,

I will keep my fingers crossed for you! There are defiantly pro’s and con’s for living stateside and overseas. I miss being close to family especially like when my dad-in-law had a stroke last year and I have a sister who is diagnosed with a life threatening disease.

I was great to meet you too!

What am amazing and blessed life you live. I am very jealous of your travels. The Marine Corps doesn’t allow for us to move that much. I love that your husband calls your children souvenirs. That is cute. Congratulation to you and your husband on his retirement. It is very nice to meet you!

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day! :)

    • Nicole,

Actually depending on you husbands career field you could have been at all the same assignments(except for Minot) they were all joint/special duty assignments. Of the 6 active duty here 2 are Marine, so you just never know!!!

Happy Military Spouse Appreciation Day to you too!

Hi there! I’m stopping by from the Blog Hop. I am the proud spouse of an army medic. I’m proud of him for many reasons including the good he’s done and wants to do going forward. We’re currently stationed in Germany and it’s pretty awesome. It’s cool that you have a close beach. That’s one thing I miss not having, but not enough to detract from the experience of being here.

Finally catching up on the blog hop! Happy Belated Military Spouse Appreciation Day! Your blog makes me extremely excited. My Babci is Polish and the culture is a big part of our lives. I could not live without her pierogies! My Polish is very, very limited (like I can sing Sto’lat and a few phrases) but my babci and all her sisters are fluent. I am excited to see more of your blog!
