The Newest District in Poland

Yesterday was an AWESOME day at church!!  OK, yes I say that a lot about our church activities but this one is one that can never be repeated again!!

Our  branch here in Bydgoszcz became part of a newly formed district!! (Yes, I know I am using lots of exclamation points but I am just that excited of this!!)  For those of you not LDS(Mormon) think of it this way… in Anglican terms think branch=parish and district=diocese.  We were part of the Warsaw district but they formed the Bydgoszcz District with 3 other branches here in Poland… Poznan, Gdansk and Szczecin.  Is this not neat?

2 times a year we do a District Meeting where all the branches come together on a Sunday for a church service.  Since we are now our own district that meant not driving to Warsaw but getting to spend it right in our church building.  I spent a total of 6 hours at church yesterday but it was so much fun it just flew by! I was in charge of feeding all 90 of us after the service. Do you think I would do all the food? Nope!  The Senior missionaries from the 3 other towns made a crock-pot full of sloppy joes and myself and the missionaries here in Bydgoszcz did the rest, from shopping at the Polish version of Sam’s Club to cleaning and prepping the fruit and vegetables.

This sister missionary seriously smiles all the time! No matter what I ask her to do she does it with a smile.

This 2 just HAD to help us with kids!

It is not a Mormon lunch if there not lots of desserts!

What do you feed 90 people with a 5 minute turn over time from the end of service and to when people eat? Sloppy joes, fruit, veggies and chips.

Here a Senior misssionary couple help serve the kids their sloppy joes. I think they really miss their grand-kids.

One of the many reasons why I love living here in Poland! Getting to fellowship and learn more about Polish customs and traditions at things like this.

Have I mentioned how much I love these guys and gals and being the unofficial mom while they live here in Bydgoszcz?

Only have 1 vacuum no one could work until he is done.

All good things must come to an end and that means clean up time!  We only have 1 vacuum, so that meant no one could work until he is done.

To tell you how excited my girls were with church yesterday they both asked this morning if we could have church again today.  How awesome is that?

Now I am not sure what changes will be coming with this new formed district in Poland in our branch but I can’t wait and see.

What is your favorite food to bring to a pot-luck?

I need address’s and phone numbers for the branches in Poland as we are getting ready to come over there for 9 weeks. I couldn’t get anything from Mormon.org so maybe you can help. Otherwise when we land in Warsaw we can contact the mission home for help.

Thanks for any help you can give us.
