Oh my feet still hurt from last night! But at least it was a for great cause, a charity dinner/auction that I organized with the International Spouses Club for a local Hospice program, Salus Homini. We raise 4,500 zlotys which was 1,500 zlotys more than last year so it was a success by my standards.
We did the auction at a local restaurant here in town call Pod Papugami. Yes, it is the same restaurant that I talked about the belly dancing show that I want too a few weeks ago. Once again the food was GREAT, staff was GREAT and the coordination of the whole event with them was GREAT! Beside the great food they have there, the other reason why we went this location is because they coordinated a Flamingo show as well which just made the night that much better.
Oh we are going to make this so pretty!
Time to organize all the donations and get them in the right spot.
My friend and I making sure we have bidding sheets for everything.
These pictures were from the Salus Homini charity to use for raffle prizes. I would have loved to put a few of those in my home. I didn’t win one. :(
Yep, I think the tables are finished and ready to go for the night.
Another one done! Now time to run home get myself all pretty, kids from school, dinner for them done and then time to get head back.
Cocktail hour has begun.
Our very simple table decorations. Love the concept less is more at events like this.
Desert time. Oops, I just realized I have no pics of the main course! I was too busy enjoy it to take pictures. Yes, I had them make the deserts from the event I was at there a few weeks ago.
The President of the charity telling us what they all do and how our donations will be use.
The show begins.
Once again I can only dream to being to dance like that.
Reminds me our of vacation to Spain several years ago and the Flamingo show that we saw there. it is amazing how those ladies can dance as well as how good those guys can play the guitar.
After she was done, then it was time for her to teach us a simple dance.
Yep, someone got a hold of my camera while I was busy getting my grove on!
After dancing is was back to bidding. Here someone was bidding on one of the items I donated. The first week of the next 7 months I will make a homemade desert that will be delivered to your house AND we are starting with a pumpkin bundt cake with cream cheese frosting. I used to have a bakery before we moved here so this is heaven to me to do!
And the final course of finger food.
The fun part of the auction, going through all the bid sheets to put them by winner.
Time to calculate who are the higgest bidders and each ones totals.
Everyone patiently waiting to see what they won!
Good food, good dancing and good friends-who could ask for anything else?
Oh, I want to quick say thank you to Beyrouth Cafe and PapaGrande for donating gift certificates to the auction! Hence the reason why they are some of favorite restaurants to eat at here in Bydgoszcz!
So next year’s charity dinner has a goal of 6,000 zlotys by my standards, I guess I better starting working on it soon!
Next year I am not the President of this Spouses Club as my term is up the end of the year(insert me doing the happy dance) but I am taking the position of Charity Coordinator and organizing the club’s charity work. So to all my Polish and Bydgoszcz readers, what charities in the local area could use our club’s support? This year we are sponsoring the Animal Shelter, Salus Homini, a local orphanage and Szlachetna Paczka. So I needing ideas for next year!
