Ristorante del Mercato

The other day I went to another “till we meet again” dinner.  This time it was one of my dearest friends that I have made here in Poland.  Her husband works with mine and they are from Slovakia.  When we first met 2.5 years ago one of the first things she said was “sorry, my English is not so good.”  I can proudly say that over the last 2.5 years of getting in lots of trouble together…going on weekend holidays together, raising over 25,000 zloty for local charities, lots of cooking classes together and a few other things I am not going say out-loud…her English is amazing!

For our final dinner together in Poland we ate at  Ristorante del Mercato. We have eaten there before and the food is wonderful and so we thought this would be a perfect place for our “till we meet again” dinner.

The weather is so beautiful we took full advantage of the outdoor seating area they put up during the summer time.

go downstairs and you find another whole seating area that easily seats 100+ people. Perfect place to host a party. Since it is summer time everyone eats outside not inside so this area was closed.

Yep, like typical kids all 3 kids ordered spaghetti. I am assuming it was good as it was gone is less than 3 minutes!

Unfortunately they were all out of gnocchi that night so with his chicken get rice instead. I had this really good spicy tomato sauce penne dish.

What an amazing view we had while we ate dinner. I could do this every night.

Dinner is done…time for dessert! Girls got a scoop of ice cream.

Cheesecake time.

Cheesecake time for my husband.

One of my favorite things to eat when we are visiting Germany is spagetti ice cream. So when I saw this on the menu I had to make sure I saved room for dessert.

I never get tired of views like this living in Europe.

It was another great night with great friends and great food.

So, why do I call them “till we meet again” dinners instead of “going away” dinners? Moving 7 times over the last 22 years of being married, to be honest I am getting tired of good-byes to friends.  I have met some great people over the years and the thought of never seeing them or even talking to them is just bit overwhelming. When it comes to the military no matter what nationality the world is a small world as we have run into a friend who worked with my husband in Miami 15 years ago when we lived in The Netherlands and he lived in Germany. Another time we were shopping at Target in a small town in Montana 4 years ago and looked and I looked at this lady like I knew her but we were on holiday in this area not knowing anyone.  Then 2 kids come running down aisle and then I instantly knew who she was.  We hadn’t seen each other or heard from each other in a few years since we last saw each other at church in The Netherlands.  You just never know when you are going to “meet again!”

Is there anyone from you life you would love to “met again?”  There is a dentist I used to work for about 20 years ago when I work for the Air Force and I would love to see where he is today as he doesn’t know what kind of impact he made our family.

It is the final 2 days!!  Just a friendly reminder to keep voting for me, please.  If click the picture below and go to my picture (I am #28) and just click the heart in the upper right hand corner.

What a cute restaurant. And the food looks delicious! I can relate to meeting people you will never see again. But you get so many wonderful experiences when moving to different places.
