Wednesday nights are something I look forward too a lot! Why? Because I teach seminary/bible study at my church to high school and university age kids.
Last week though I have to say it was probably one of the funnest nights of the year for us, Scripture Mastery Night. We played a few games for everyone to get a better understanding and to test their skills on this years scripture mastery. For those of you not LDS(aka Mormon) every year there are 25 scriptures that the kids/young adults are to memorize to gain a better understanding of what we are studying that year.
First up, put scriptures in chronological order.
Next game up, I said what the scripture was about in simple words, they had to find the scripture that went with it.
Here “L” is trying to find the right one,
Looks like I did a tricking one as they are both stumped.
“Where is it? I know it’s here!”
“I give up!”
“is it this one or that one?’
I love this kids! “Mom, what was that rip noise?”
These faces are priceless why?
Because this dashing missionary got into the game just a wee bit to much and jumped into the square to fast and well totally ripped his backside of his pants! I think he deep down wanted to be in Tonga on a mission where the missionaries wear skirts.
Now for the next game not only did they have to find what scripture I named they had to run and get something that I wanted to make it a bit more exciting as they kids know the scriptures AMAZINGLY! Here “L” made it back first.
Looks like someone was a bit on the slow side.
Unfortunately all parties must come to an end and that means clean up time.
What also made last week special is that one of the kids it was her 17th birthday so we had to have birthday cake of course!
Does this cake not look wonderful? Meringue, vanilla cake with a caramel type frosting.
I have a group that I get to work with every week and I so enjoy it!
If you are in the Bydgoszcz area you are more than welcome to join us Wednesday nights at 17.30 for 60 minutes for fun learning more about the scriptures!
Do you have a favorite scripture in the bible? My is Psalms 23.
