I mentioned before that a friend of mine living in Norway came to visit the last 6 days, so that meant lots of sightseeing and playing tour guide for her and her other 2 companions. On Thursday we went to visit Torun as that is a must if you are in this part of Poland.
I guess living here now 2.5 years I am starting to take stuff for granted when I look around. So it was interesting to look at this town from a tourist point of view like I did the first time 2 years ago.
Time for Another Visit to Torun….
What a lovely church.
I just love the architecture in Torun.
The mythical dragon that once lived in Torun.
This poor guy was being attacked by the kids on school trips that day for candy. This city is popular for school trips with all the history and other fun things to do there.
Speaking of candy, this new candy store opened since the last time I was there. They make it all right there in front of you.
This is one way to advertise your restaurant!
Of course I had to take my friends into a gingerbread store while in Torun as that is what this town is famous for.
Yet another beautiful church we found.
Now that is a donation chest.
This church even had a tower you climb up to the top too.
My friend is also an anitque person like me so we had to go in a few antique store too!
I am glad I don’t have their job!
What a lovely day it was that day.
The city wall.
What another church? Yep!
Is she not the cutest feeding the pigeons?
Yet another church but we didn’t go into this one as we were too hungry for lunch.
Torun does not lack souvenir stands and the 3 of them were in the search for the perfect magnet for back home.
LOVE this water fountain in the old square area.
Finally time to eat and it is good to know I am not the only one that takes pictures of my food!
Yet another fun day exploring Torun with some GREAT friends!! It was a FUN but EXHAUSTING week as we had a few more adventures but you will have to wait till later this week to hear about them especially my weekend as it was one the BEST weekends in my life!
What is something you take for granted in your town?
