So Saturday was “E’s” big birthday I was telling you about that “E” was sewing aprons for. Since “E” was turning 9 years old this year it is a hard age to plan a party for. She is getting to old for the indoor play areas, the weather is too cold to do anything outside, her friends are still new to her from school so she wasn’t comfortable with a sleep-over this year. So we started coming up with some ideas for what we could do. She said she had a fun time when we did the cookie making workshop before Christmas with some friends so she thought why not do one for her birthday! We thought what about a pizza making party? We shot a quick email over to Papa Grande restaurant to swing the idea by him. After a quick laugh, the owner Patryk, said sure!
First up, decorating their chef hats. I found these literally the day before the party. I had looked at like 5 stores trying to find some but no luck. Then I decided to head over to a restaurant supply store that I drive by all the time to see what they had. I thought they would be expensive there so that is why I did not go there in the first place. Well, I was wrong! He had paper ones that where 3 zlotys($1) each! Jackpot!!! Now if I would have went there days ago I would have saved myself lots of headaches.
Time to learn how to make chocolate & vanilla swirled cookies.
Yeah, I think “E” was a having a fun time making the cookies.
Rolling in the cocoa for the chocolate part of the cookie.
Instead of “pin the tale on the donkey,” it was “pin the pepperoni on the pizza.” “E” made this game herself.
Time to roll the crust out.
By the looks of it someone is not listening.
Showing the girls how to put sauce perfectly on a pizza crust.
Pizza making time.
Happy Birthday kid!
For us parents, they made this AMAZING white chocolate mousse thing.
The girls waiting their turn for their pizza to come out of the oven.
Why do Polish people put ketchup on perfectly good pizza?
Patryk and I getting the cookies that the girls made put in some goodie bags to take home.
Looks like something good must be inside!
I think the girls had a great time at the party and “E” hasn’t stopped talking about since as this party was her idea from start to finish.
Between her making the aprons for part of their goodie bags, her making the game, the activities were the snacks and the other part of the goodie bag. This by far I think this pizza party was the funnest one for her and me.
What is favorite birthday memory that you had as a kid? Me, it the angel food cake my mother used to make or it is the Barbie doll cakes that I would get at my grandmother’s.
