Time to Cook…Fruit Pizza (Owoce Pizzeria)

Well today a few friends and I got together for our monthly cooking class.  It was my turn to host the group, so instead of me teaching them I did a “beach” theme!  I had everyone bring their favorite summer food to share with the group.  We had 5 different nationalities represented so it was a GREAT mixture of food.

For my contribution I made fruit pizza.  I LOVE to make this when fruit is in season, with all that fruit this has to be half way healthy, right?

This is SUPER easy to make and can be whipped up in no time!

Here is the recipe!

The Crust – make your favorite sugar cookie recipe and then spread it out on a pizza pan like a pizza crust and bake it according to the recipe. You will probably have to double the baking time.

The Sauce – Take soft cream cheese (here in Poland they have this vanilla flavored spreadable one which is AMAZING for this!) and then add just some sugar to get it to the sweetness you like. I added about 1/2 cup to this bucket.

Just mix the sugar to the cream cheese. Now if you cannot get cream cheese like this add just a bit of vanilla extract.

Now just spread on the cooled cookie crust.

Now for the fun part! Slice up some of your favorite fruit.

The add them all pretty to the pizza, like this!!

How easy was that?  Now here is some of the other food we sampled this morning!

Some kind of Polish tart. LOVELY!

A bunch of French food! AMAZING!!

Lithuanian beet & dill soup. This is served cold with cooked potatoes. HEAVEN!!!

I always enjoy this time of month for this group, as I never know what we are going to eat!

What is your favorite food to eat from a foreign country? Mine, sauerkraut!!

Oh my, I’m hungry now. :)

PS In Polish it should be “pizza owocowa” (never trust automatic translators, Polish is way to complicated for them ;)).
