Time to Cook…Pancake & Bacon Dippers

I wish I could give credit where credit is due for this recipe but a friend posted this idea on Facebook the other week and this friend post a LOT to Facebook and I can not find it on her wall. So my apologies for not giving credit where credit is due!

Pancake & Bacon Dippers

Pancakes and bacon all in one?  Yes, jackpot! Not sure about your house but kids+pancakes+syrup= a mess.  These looked perfect for the girls and I to try on a Saturday morning before swim lessons.  This is as easy as what ever pancake mix you use.

Doesn't get much easier than this! Pancake mix and bacon. Yes, we still have some instant pancake mix from the US.

First up, fry the bacon. And if you are like my house, hide the bacon or you won't have any bacon left for your pancakes.

Just tip them in your favorite pancake syrup and enjoy.

OK, time to be honest.  Yes, I get lazy every once and while and the day I made these it was no exception!

You know you do the same thing with that little bit of pancake batter.

These now have turned into a staple in house.  I made a bunch up the other day and put them in the freezer in batches of 4 strips in a bag for the girls to have for a quick breakfast or just for a afternoon snack. I hope you enjoy these Pancake & Bacon Dippers as much as we do.

Are you a real maple syrup person or just a normal pancake syrup person?  I will take Mrs. Butterworth syrup over maple syrup any day.

Real maple syrup for me. I grew up in Wisconsin, where maple syrup was pretty available, and I never lost my taste for the genuine article.

This might be the person who came up with the pancake bacon idea. This is a nice site with lots of wonderful recipes (pot roast with cranberries is an awesome “feed the elders” recipe).

Love your blog! Our son is going to the MTC in June, headed for the Warsaw mission, maybe you’ll meet him someday.
