I know it may seem hard to believe there are other things to do in Boleslawiec beside Polish pottery shopping!!
This is the unique and VERY interesting glass studio, Borowski which is just outside of town really near Andy’s & Andar’s .
If you see this billboard you right there!
Parking is just outside of this gate. You will walk through the gates to into the studio. If they gate is closed just ring the buzzer and they will let you in.
The studio’s welcoming committee.
This would look awesome right next to my pond.
When walk into the building you walk under this neat chandler and through the arch. The store will be on your right and straight head is where they blow the glass and make these very interesting pieces of art.
Now if you are looking for amazing Christmas balls? This is the place!!! The have small, medium and large balls. They have baskets and baskets of them! But fair warning if you are going by bus with a bunch of friends…if you want some you better go to these first before they get picked over or even sold out.
The lamps are the coolest! Not sure if they fit the decor of my house but the are sure neat.
The colors are so bright here.
Now this is quite the vase. Now here is the crazy part when shopping there, notice the price of 1090 zloty which equals €260 and on looking at website from an art studio that sells their pieces they want €690!! Buying directly from the factory is totally worth it.
Can you imagine waking up to this?
Maybe when my kids are a wee bit older I will actually break down and get a few bigger pieces.
Now this would an interesting candy dish to have. Now a little pricey for a candy but it would be a conversation piece in your house that is for sure.
These are technically paperweights but the ones that I have are used more as display pieces. Notice the price and that is in zloty. In the US that is what it is going for in US dollars roughly. CRAZY!!
So if you are an art collector and you happen to be in the Boleslawiec area, this is totally worth a stop at. I thought Polish pottery had a mark-up this is even worse in the US, buying directly from the factory will save you a HUGE amount of $$$ or €€€!
One other neat thing about this place is that typically during the week you watch them blow the glass in the back. It is really neat to watch them make the different shapes and colors. Unfortunately this trip we got there to late and they just finished for the day. If you have kids with you, they will have a FUN time watching them, mine did!
It is right on the mailn road so it very easy to find. The address is Tomaszow Boleslawieki 87 in the town of Tomaszow Bolelawiecki. For GPS purpose if you can put the zip code 59-720 it might be a lot easier. There is lots of parking so don’t worry about that.
They are open Monday-Saturday from 9:00-16:00.
Have you been to Borowski glass studio? What was your favorite piece? I am in love with the Gonzo’s!
