So last weekend we were up in Gdnask and Gydnia, Poland. Well in between the two is Sopot. Actually you can not tell you are leaving one and entering another as they are basically one happy family. So Saturday night we headed over to the beach to check out the famous pier. It is the longest pier Poland.
By dumb luck there was also some sort of movie thing going one sponsored by Orange telephone company. They were showing an outdoor movie, along with giving some awards to a few Polish celebrities. I think that explained part of the reason why there was so many people there on top of the beautiful weather.
Welcome to the Sopot pier!
My girls wanted to go to this stand!
The red carpet the girls I think were plotting on how to walk down it.
Just a few souvenir stands to shop from. Luckily most were already closed for the evening.
It was about 7:30 at night and the line was long to get tickets to get on the pier. It went fast but I cannot imagine what the line would be like during the day.
Ticket prices to get on the pier. Yes, you have to pay to walk on the pier. We paid 19 zlotys($8) for a family pass which was for 2 adults and 3 kids.
People waiting for the Polish actors and actresses.
E and her friend waiting too. They felt like celebrities with the lights and the red carpet.
The big outdoor movie screen.
Just a few people there!
I think this is what heaven looks like!
The Sopot pier.
The beach just goes on and on.
Me and my girls!
A ship that was a restaurant of some sort.
My poor 6 year old thought that was a real person.
We probably spent about an hour or so on the pier but it was LOVELY! So if you ever make it to Sopot, you need to check out the pier!
Have you ever been on a big boat like these? I have once when we lived in Panama and I went through the canal with my sister.
