I know this is really late but in May we went to watch something called a “Trickline,” “Highline” or some call it “Slackline” competition. Whatever you want to call it…it is AWESOME!
This all happened the first weekend in May here in Bydgoszcz(yes it happened that long ago!). This line is not that high off the ground but still requires lots of balance and some major inner core muscle strength. I cannot adequately describe it so I will let the pictures tell you more about this unique competition.
This is what we went too.
Time to warm-up before the big competition! “A” was all excited because we know him from one of our favorite restaurants here in town, PapaGrande where he works.
I am getting excited for the World Volleyball companionship being held here in Poland in this month.
“A” was memorized by these guys.
The cotton candy man was out selling so for 3 zloty ($1) she got a serving.
Yep a few people watch the competition. I am glad we came earlier to get a good spot.
These guys were crazy on the rope and what they could all do on it.
Where we were sitting there was a line almost directly on top of us. Out of no where we look up and see this.
They were amazing with the tricks they could do.
They make it look it so easy!
Down he goes.
And up he goes!
All the different competitors in the competition.
I can not imagine line landing on a line like that and bouncing right back up.
Yes, they did all sorts of things on the line.
Yes, they went that high and even higher with their jumps.
Yes, this is how you know you have been living somewhere for a long time when you run into friends at events. This one of “A’s” friends who only speaks Polish from church and she just instantly started speaking Polish. Total proud mom moment! Now if only my Polish was good enough to have a conversation with her father who was with her.
Now that is some upper body strength!
These guys make this look so easy.
And this is the way our afternoon end with a flat a tire after driving over a nail or screw 2 blocks after pulling out of the parking lot. UUGGHH! Luckily one of the church missionaries worked at a tire shop back in the US and saved my day yet again.
So you able to imagine what these guys were doing? No? Click HERE to go to my YouTube video of one of the guys doing his warm up.
Trickline, Slackline or Highline or whatever you want to call it is just WOW! I can’t imagine ever doing this myself.
I know you are wondering if I tried it? No I did not and you never will! Would you try it?
