Well that was fun

Several friends and I have formed a cooking club, since a good share of them are from other countries we all want to know how and what each of us cook in home countries.  Well, a Groupon coupon that I stumbled upon several weeks ago was for a cooking class at the local restaurant Pod Papugami.  Yes, the same restaurant that I did the charity auction a few weeks ago at.  I quick shot an email out to everyone to see who was all interested in doing it and bought us a coupon or two!

Well all I can say was it was so much fun!  But not only that, we cooked and ate so much too.  The theme for this class was fusion cooking.  This is where you just put a different oils, spices, flavorings or just about anything together and see what comes together.

Let the cooking class begin!

First dish for the night, marinaded salmon.

My friend put some very strong smelling vinigar in her marinade and asked me what I thought. Well I think my face does the taking!

Now on to making salads and salad dressings for the platting.

Time to pound the chicken breast paper thin. I think my cooking buddy was still enjoying her salad round.

Would you imagine mixing all this together makes one heck of dip/sauce?

Our first meat dish, our salmon, wrapped in the chicken breast and ham. Not pretty looking but tasted good.

Now on to the next round of food. Pork wellington. OMG, this is so easy to make, who knew? Here I marinated my pork in lime juice, honey, whiskey and a spice I don't remember. It tasted amazing!

This was so much fun as I love to learn new ways to cook!  After taking with the chefs they are going to be organizing more of these cooking type classes and I excited.  They are looking at putting together kid classes and I think we are going to try to organize a husband & wife cooking class for a date night.

So THANK YOU Pod Papugami for fun night!

What is your favorite type of food to cook?  Me, I love Mexican!
