So yesterday I mentioned that we headed down south to Poznan for the volleyball tournament and to meet up with our other kind of, sort of kid, Rachael who just flew back but we had other highlights too over the 2 days it wasn’t all about volleyball!
We stayed at cute little family run hotel outside of town. They had the most amazing apple trees that were loaded with them. I so wanted to take a bunch and make a serious batch of apple butter when we got home.
“A” disappointed that it wasn’t open to make a wish.
They had this HUGE dog. He was super friendly and just beautiful.
The old cellar that is still in use by them.
Is this not the cutest room? Now the beds once you went to sleep on them were a different story. Jim’s was a hard, my had the coils hitting me and “L’s” bed said was perfect. Why does “Goldielocks and the 3 bears” come to mind?
Our family style breakfast we got. Typical Polish! The jam they made and was AMAZING!! (We forgot it was Fast Sunday for all our LDS friends!)
Since we spend Saturday night there, that meant Sunday church for us in Poznan. Primary time (aka kids
Sunday school). There are no kids in the church here so she was super excited to finally teach the one lesson she has prepared over 6 months ago!
L having Young Women (aka teenage girls Sunday school class) with another girl she meet a few months ago at a church girls retreat in Warsaw. The wonderful sister missionaries teach this class.
Our wonderful church missionairies in Poznan. In a small church like Poznan they are the ones that make it really work!
The girls did not want to say good-bye to one of the missionaries. He used to be in Bydgoszcz with us but now he is is Poznan and the girls miss him.
After church we headed back to more volleyball games. Did I mention I am SO excited to have Rachael back in Poland with us!
Our drive back and the views of the Polish country side. Yes, they have lots of windmills here.
I love the old buildings here!
Reminds of being back in Holland.
The girls wanted to stop and go for dip in the lake. Do they realize how cold that lake is going to be this time of year?
I love the old church and the neat architecture they have here in Poland too.
Don’t ask we why I am posting this but this house is GREEN!!
Sugar beet pile waiting to go to the sugar factory in the back.
Yes, what a weekend it was, even if our GPS had us taking some back roads home but then again I got to see lots of country side especially before winter comes.
If you could paint your house any color or have any kind of siding what would you do? Me, I love stone log cabin styled houses!
Only a couple more days of me asking!!
Have you voted today yet?
