Have you ever wondered why are dragonflies so beautiful?
Ok, some people are deathly afraid of them but I think are amazing just like buffalo, pandas, koala bears, sloths and kudamundi.
This morning I was able to hang out with a great group of friends and do a stain glass workshop at a local art studio here in town. When the lady asked what I wanted to make as I am not a big angel person like many others in the class were, she gave a bunch of ideas but when she said the word “dragon-fly” I squealed with excitement.

Our insturctor. She made it look SOOOO easy. “Just go like this, and this…”

“Now just draw some wings”

I had to cut out the paper stencils to trace on to the glass.

Here where the instructions just in case we got lost.

Time to trace the pattern onto the glass.

I managed to cut the glass and not myself!! Not the prettiest of cuts but hey, it was my first time.

Once again our lovely instructor making it look so easy!

Now on to polishing the glass to get rid of the sharp edges.

Then time to edge the glass with some sort of copper like paper for the lead to stick to.

Once we were done lining and smoothing our copper paper stuff then it was onto putting it all together. Holy cow does that wand thing get HOT!!

My piece before soldering it together.

Woo Hoo, I am finished and have no blisters!! I even had a few extra minutes so I made myself a necklace.

A few other ladies where a bit more creative and colorful than I was!
Well it is good thing you need a bunch of stuff to do this craft or otherwise I think I really could get into doing this. This was so much fun but yet frustrating. It is one of those things that would get easier as you practice it.
If you try a new craft what would you want to try?

Definitely Carving in wood. Maybe one day
I do love the carving here but have you notice most are missing fingers or parts of fingers? You might want to re-think this one!
You’re right! I had a teacher who carved beautiful things. He had all his fingers
I remember that sometimes carved in such a naturally fragrant wood. Unfortunately I do not have such large manual skills.
K.
Creative!
I wish I could take credit for the design but it was all the teacher’s idea!
wow… who organized this?
I would love to try this out one day
There is a local lady who sells her stuff at craft fairs so we thought we would ask her to do a workshop for us and she said yes. It was fun, you might check in the Krakow area if there is any local artists.
